Project: McCarver Village II
Location: Tacoma, Washington
Client: Tom O’Conner & Associates
Completed: Summer 2006
McCarver village comprises the second phase of a multi-phase urban infill project located near St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma. While similar to the first phase in design, this second phase was designed to be subtly different to provide a complementary difference within a cohesive neighborhood.
Due to the steep slope of the site, buildings were able to step up the site, providing each unit with panoramic views of the Puyallup Valley and the Cascade Mountains, featuring Mt. Rainier and Commencement Bay.
Units were designed to maximize natural lighting and cross ventilation through orientation on the site.
